The Chips Joint Undertaking will host a booth - C2419 - at Semicon Europa to showcase their four pilot lines.
One of those is the NanoIC pilot line, which plays a crucial role in realizing the European Chips Act’s vision of achieving leadership in advanced system-on-chip (SoC) innovation. These SoCs promise great opportunities for the European semiconductor industry, with a significant impact on the continent’s most critical markets.
The NanoIC pilot line invites foundries, IDMs, material suppliers, equipment suppliers and system companies/OEMs to jointly develop the materials, process modules, integration flows and pathfinding PDKs to enable the beyond-2nm SoC technology pillars.
In parallel, design pathfinding and system exploration PDKs will be available for start-ups, SMEs, universities, and design and system houses to perform device or system prototyping to demonstrate the viability of their future designs.
Finally, the NanoIC pilot lines also participates in low-barrier initiatives to build a skilled EU semiconductor workforce.
The NanoIC pilot line is hosted by imec in partnership with CEA-Leti (France), Fraunhofer (Germany), VTT (Finland), CSSNT (Romania), and Tyndall National Institute (Ireland). It is jointly funded by the Chips Joint Undertaking, through the European Union’s Digital Europe and Horizon Europe programs, as well as by the participating states.
SEMICON Europa 2024 is co-located with electronica in Munich, Germany creating the strongest single event for electronics manufacturing in Europe, and broadening the range of attendees across the electronics chain.
