Business Development Manager – ASIC Services
What you will do
Imec is the largest independent semiconductor R&D facility within Europe. At imec, we shape the future. Within the organization, imec IC-link is a division offering first-in-class ASIC services to start-up’s, scale-up’s and larger companies. As our activities are growing, we are looking for a dedicated Business Development Manager to support our customers and prospects with their ASIC solutions.
In this role:
- You build and manage a portfolio of customers in need of ASIC and other imec.IC-link services.
- You will prospect customers according to imec.IC-links strategy and portfolio
- You have a good knowledge of what it takes to develop, produce and mass-manufacture an ASIC
- Thanks to your knowledge of ASIC development and in cooperation with our solution architects, you are able to propose solutions to our customers. These solutions relate to chip technology, design flows and execution strategy.
- You prepare quotations for customers according to their design needs, negotiate supply agreements supported by our legal team and close deals with diverse accounts primarily in Europe
- You will build and grow relationships with imec’s customers and strive towards a top-notch customer satisfaction
- You act as the facilitator and negotiator for solving (technical or non-technical) problems during the project in a pragmatical manner.
- You support the activity leaders and project managers to ensure a correct, adequate and efficient execution of projects.
- You advise the management regarding actions and (strategic) decisions.
- You represent imec at external fairs and exhibitions where design houses, subcontractors, universities, chip foundries and customers meet one another.

Who you are
- You have a good knowledge of the IC and technology market.
- You are fluent in English and have good verbal and written communication skills. Other languages are a plus.
- You have a Master’s degree with strong knowledge in all what is related to ASIC development and manufacturing
- You have preferably worked in and ASIC development role in a previous career
- You have a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical service sales and/or business development.
- Technical knowledge of digital and analog chip design flows and a design-level knowledge of chip fabrication, testing, packaging and qualification (CMOS) is a must.
- Experience with full development cycle of complex SoC’s is a plus, from requirements until mass production.
- You are result driven.
- You are a strong communicator, customer-oriented and diplomatic. You are able to extend your internal and external networks and to talk and confer on technical, legal and business-related matters. A relevant existing network is a plus.
- You can adequately judge risks, problem situations and opportunities, recognize priorities and act accordingly flexibly.
- You do not mind regular traveling (1 to 2 per month), mostly within Europe (EMEA).
