Funded Manager - Hardware Technologies

What you will do

Imec's R&D programs are supported by funded projects with industrial players and research centers. The Regional Innovation and Collaboration Hub group is responsible for coordinating funding activities at imec in Flanders. This includes both front office activities, such as ensuring imec's participation in strategically important projects up to the electronic submission of the projects, setting up the necessary cooperation agreements with project partners, and supporting ongoing projects.

As Funded Manager - Hardware Technologies, you follow the Flemish and national funding policy. You build imec-wide expertise in public funding and develop insight across multiple strategic hardware and deep-tech domains. Depending on strategic priorities and business needs, you may contribute to different research areas across imec's hardware portfolio rather than to one narrowly defined technology domain.

  • You are the interface of imec towards the various funding agencies at Flemish and national level for strategic hardware and deep-tech research areas.
  • You participate in workshops, conferences and meetings with governmental stakeholders to make sure that imec's research topics find their way into the relevant work programs. You are responsible for following up funding policy in the assigned research areas.
  • You initiate and follow up funded projects through the different steps of drafting project proposals, submission, evaluation procedures, negotiation and setting up cooperation agreements. After approval of the project, you provide the necessary support with regard to reporting and project follow-up.
  • You become familiar with research activities carried out at imec across multiple hardware and semiconductor technology domains. As a funded manager, you help identify and secure funding opportunities that support imec's research and innovation priorities.
  • You build up a broad knowledge of the Flemish funding landscape  and take responsibility for monitoring and actively contributing to these funding programs.
