Execute and give technical support on fully automated measurement systems in lab and cleanroom, training on the job will be provided. Provide technical support to lab users of semi-automated test systems means that after a training you will be able to do technical interventions on test systems. (replacing certain hardware components, helping new users, ...) General support when new systems are being installed. Support the instrument calibration workflow (take out and place back instruments in the measurement rack)

Execute electrical test programs on automatic wafer probers in both in lab and cleanroom environment.

The assignment 

The META group is part of the Fab organization in imec, responsible for electrical test . The team delivers test applications and services to the R&D organization and contributes directly to the success of many research programs in imec. One of the key responsibilities of the operations team within META is to execute fully automated electrical test programs on silicon wafers once they leave imec’s production line. The team is also in charge of all operational aspects of the electrical test lab. This includes instrument calibration, maintenance and technical support for lab users. We are looking for a measurement technician to support the electrical test operations team in daily operations. 

  • Your main responsibility will be to execute electrical test programs on automatic wafer probers in both in lab and cleanroom environment. This involves preparing the test script, loading the wafers on the tool and running the test. 
  • You will also provide technical support to researchers on the different test benches in our labs, for example replacing needles or doing small repairs on a system. 
  • During the instrument calibration period you help deliver the instruments in a timely manner to the calibration service point and re-install them after calibration. 
  • You play an active role in the instrument loan service and probecard service work. 
  • When new systems are installed you help build up new set-ups by installing instruments and cabling in measurement racks. 
  • After receiving the required training, you will train researchers on measurement systems. 
  • You look out for operational and quality improvements and collaborate with the team to implement them. 

Required knowledge and skills

  • You enjoy technical and hands-on work. 
  • You are customer and service oriented.  
  • You have an eye for detail; you can follow a procedure to execute a complex task. 
  • You are a pragmatic problem solver; you like to find practical solutions and implement them. 
  • You are a team player; you are eager to learn from others but also easily share your own knowledge and expertise. 
  • You have a basic understanding of and can express yourself in English. 
  • Knowledge of dutch is a plus. 
  • Education in a technical field or experience with electronics is a plus.
