Exploratory Logic Program Manager

Research & development - Leuven | Just now

Are you motivated by shaping the future of nanoelectronics and enabling breakthrough logic technologies? Do you thrive in environments where earlystage, highuncertainty ideas are transformed into structured, impactful R&D projects?

Exploratory Logic Program Manager

What you will do

As Exploratory Logic Program Manager, you will manage imec’s Exploratory Logic Program, which focuses on the exploration and maturation of novel and potentially disruptive logic device concepts. The program investigates new materials, processes, device concepts, or combinations thereof, with the objective of identifying and funnelling the most promising ideas into more mature technology development programs compatible with 300 mm FAB environments.
You will translate program strategy into executable project portfolios and ensure effective delivery across multiple exploratory R&D projects.

Your responsibilities

As a Program Manager, you will:

  • Coordinate the intake, evaluation, and prioritization of new exploratory projects in alignment with the program strategy and imec’s broader R&D roadmap.
  • Lead the execution of multiple R&D projects, from concept definition through validation and handover to downstream technology programs.
  • Define and manage Mid-Level-Plans, projects roadmaps, schedules, and resource planning in close collaboration with domain experts, resource managers, and FAB operations.
  • Provide operational leadership to multidisciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and a highperformance culture.
  • Monitor project performance, resources, and key milestones, ensuring adherence to agreed scope, timing, and priorities.
  • Proactively manage risks, drive corrective actions, accelerate critical paths when required, and escalate major issues within the organization.
  • Ensure clear, structured communication with internal stakeholders, senior management, and—where applicable—industrial partners, including reporting on progress and results.
  • Support the strategic evolution of the program by leading the implementation of changes across projects to deliver distinct and measurable benefits.
  • Actively contribute to Project Management Office (PMO) initiatives and continuous improvement of project execution practices, quality, and speed.
